Welcome to Notes Online! Here's everything you need to know to get started and make the most of our features.

Getting Started

Creating a New Document: Click the "+" button in the sidebar or use Ctrl+N to create a new document.

Editing Text: Click in the editor area and start typing. Use the toolbar for formatting options like bold, italic, and underline.

Document Title: Click on the title field at the top to rename your document.

Saving & Managing Documents

Auto-Save: Your documents are automatically saved every 2 seconds when auto-save is enabled.

Manual Save: Use Ctrl+S to save your document as a file to your computer.

Document Management: Use the sidebar to switch between documents, rename, duplicate, or delete them.

Search Documents: Use the search box in the sidebar to find specific documents by title or content.

Find & Replace

Open Find & Replace: Click the search icon in the toolbar or use Ctrl+F.

Find Text: Enter text in the "Find" field to search within your document.

Replace Text: Use the "Replace with" field to replace found text with new text.

Replace All: Click "Replace All" to replace all instances at once.

File Import

Drag & Drop: Drag text files (.txt, .md, .doc, .docx) directly into the editor to import them.

File Menu: Use the file open button in the toolbar or Ctrl+O to browse and select files.

Supported Formats: We support .txt, .md, .doc, and .docx files.

Customization

Themes: Choose from Modern White, Vintage Paper, Lined Paper, or Old Classic themes.

Dark Mode: Toggle dark mode using the moon/sun icon or in the settings panel.

Font Settings: Adjust font size and family from the toolbar (on larger screens).

Auto-Save: Enable or disable auto-save in the settings panel.

Document Statistics

Real-time Stats: View word count, character count, sentences, lines, and paragraphs at the bottom of the editor.

Space Detection: The editor automatically detects and warns about extra spaces in your text, showing both the number of extra spaces and groups where they occur.

Troubleshooting

Documents Not Saving: Make sure auto-save is enabled in settings. Documents are saved to your browser's local storage.

Lost Documents: Documents are stored locally in your browser. Clearing browser data will remove saved documents.

Mobile Issues: On mobile devices, use the hamburger menu to access the document sidebar.

Performance: For large documents, consider breaking them into smaller sections for better performance.
